How to deal with abnormal vaginal discharge after childbirth?

The causes of abnormal postpartum leucorrhea are related to factors such as incomplete uterine involution, vaginitis, and cervicitis. Treatment should be carried out according to the cause, and therapeutic drugs should be used reasonably when necessary.

1. Incomplete uterine involution: If the placenta or fetal membrane cannot be completely peeled off during delivery, it is easy to cause the presence of residues, inducing incomplete uterine involution, and then abnormal leucorrhea after delivery, accompanied by odor or bloody secretions in severe cases. In this case, drugs such as Motherwort Granules and New Biochemical Granules can be taken orally for treatment. If the symptoms are too severe, curettage can be considered.

2. Vaginitis: Due to the proliferation of vaginal bacteria, the vaginal wall is stimulated, resulting in a significant increase in epithelial cell secretions, leading to abnormal vaginal discharge and odor. In this case, drugs such as nifuratel tablets and clotrimazole vaginal tablets can be used according to the doctor's advice. Reasonable use of drugs can improve the odor and help the recovery of vaginal discharge.

3. Cervicitis: such as acute postpartum cervicitis, which leads to local congestion and edema of the cervix, severe epithelial cell degeneration and necrosis, and even abnormal leucorrhea. In this regard, ceftriaxone sodium and penicillin sodium can be used for intravenous injection, and early medication can control the development of the disease.

Endometritis can also cause abnormal leucorrhea after delivery, reminding women to pay attention to their physical condition after delivery, develop good hygiene habits, avoid resuming sexual life too early, and avoid cross infection.
