What are the examination indicators for adenomyosis?

1. MRI is used to check for adenomyosis. The commonly used examination index T2 is used for re-imaging diagnosis of adenomyosis. The image shows a low-intensity band signal surrounded by strong echoes of the normal endometrium. The uneven echo band with a thickness of >5mm is a typical image of adenomyosis. Comparative examinations before and after menstruation, image changes are of great significance for diagnosis. When the lesion bleeds, strong echo signals of different sizes can be seen. MRI can distinguish between uterine fibroids and adenomyosis, and diagnose the coexistence of the two, which is of great help in decision-making methods. This is also the main value of MRI.

2. Adenomyosis Gynecological examination shows that the uterus is often uniformly enlarged and spherical, and adenomyomas may appear as hard nodules. The uterus generally does not exceed 12 weeks of gestation. The uterus is tender near the menstrual period; during menstruation, the uterus is enlarged, soft, and tenderness is more obvious than usual; after menstruation, the uterus shrinks. The uterus is often adhered to the surrounding rectum, especially the back rectum, and has poor mobility. 15% to 40% of endometriosis is combined with it, and about half of them are combined with uterine fibroids. Adenomyosis can be initially diagnosed based on typical medical history and physical signs, combined with pelvic or vaginal imaging examinations such as B-ultrasound, MRI, and CA125 waiting for diagnosis. Confirmation requires pathological examination through surgery.
