What causes dysmenorrhea?

Dysmenorrhea can be caused by primary dysmenorrhea, colds, endometriosis and other reasons, and can be treated with medication and physical therapy under the guidance of a doctor.

1. Primary dysmenorrhea: Generally, women's endometrium will produce a hormone called prostaglandins during menstruation. When the prostaglandin content is too high, it will lead to excessive uterine contraction, vasospasm, uterine ischemia, hypoxia and dysmenorrhea. It can be treated with drugs such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, acetaminophen tablets, and Yuanhu analgesic tablets under the guidance of a doctor.

2. Cold: If the patient often eats cold food during menstruation, or does not take warming measures, it may cause abdominal cold, severe contraction of the uterus, and cause dysmenorrhea, which can be relieved by hot compress or drinking more brown sugar water.

3. Endometriosis: It may be due to reproductive tract abnormalities or genetic reasons, which will cause endometrial tissue to grow outside the uterine cavity and ovarian hormones during the menstrual cycle, leading to symptoms such as hyperplasia, bleeding, and pain. It can be treated with drugs such as medroxyprogesterone acetate tablets, danazol capsules, and mifepristone tablets under the guidance of a doctor.

In addition to the common causes mentioned above, it may also be caused by pelvic inflammatory disease, adenomyosis, uterine fibroids, etc., which can be treated under the guidance of a doctor.
