What causes pelvic effusion?

What causes pelvic effusion?

Pelvic effusion may be caused by physiological factors, pelvic inflammatory disease, adnexitis, etc.

Causes of pelvic effusion:

1. Physiological factors: If the ovulation period occurs, the follicle will rupture and the follicular fluid will flow into the pelvic cavity, mainly because the pelvic cavity is located at the bottom of the abdominal cavity, which leads to pelvic effusion. During menstruation, a small amount of menstrual blood retrogradely enters the pelvic cavity, which can also cause pelvic effusion.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease: Due to the invasion of inflammatory cells into the body, the serous fluid at the site of inflammation cannot be absorbed by the body in time, and then spreads to the pelvic cavity, forming pelvic effusion. There is a malignant tumor in the pelvic cavity. The tumor tissue compresses the blood vessels or lymphatic vessels, resulting in blood flow obstruction and pelvic effusion.

3. Adnexitis: Adnexitis may cause obvious exudation in local tissues. The exudate flows into the pelvic cavity and causes pelvic effusion.

Treatment of pelvic effusion:

1. Physiological factors: These are normal physiological factors and generally do not require treatment.

2. Pelvic inflammatory disease: Patients can take metronidazole tablets, cefixime capsules and other drugs to relieve the symptoms under the guidance of a doctor.

3. Adnexitis: Patients can take azithromycin tablets, moxifloxacin hydrochloride tablets and other drugs to relieve the symptoms under the guidance of a doctor.
