What tests should be done for vaginitis?

Vaginitis is a common gynecological disease in clinical practice, but many women do not have much knowledge about vaginitis, so they do not know whether they have vaginitis. So what examinations should be done for vaginitis? Next, we ask experts to introduce the examination methods for vaginitis.

Examination of vaginitis 1. Amine test: The leucorrhea of patients with bacterial vaginosis may have a fishy odor, which is caused by the amines in the leucorrhea being volatilized after being alkalized by potassium hydroxide.

Examination of vaginitis 2. Internal examination: For women with sexual experience, obstetricians and gynecologists will use internal examination, that is, ask the female patient to lie on the examination table, take off her underwear, and then put her feet on a specific bracket. The doctor will then use the gloved index and middle fingers to gently insert into your vagina and touch the cervix. At the same time, use the other hand to press the abdomen to check whether the uterus is enlarged, or whether the ovaries are enlarged or have tumors.

3. Routine examination of vaginitis: Leucorrhea is a mixture of vaginal mucosal exudates, cervical canal and endometrial gland secretions, and its formation is related to the action of estrogen.

Examination of vaginitis 4. Clue cells: Clue cells refer to patients with many bacilli condensed at the edge of the vaginal epithelial cells. In the hanging drop smear, the edges of the vaginal epithelial cells are granular or stippled, making them unclear. These are clue cells. They are the most sensitive and specific sign of bacterial vaginosis. Clinicians can make a diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis based on a positive amine test and the presence of clue cells.

Vaginitis examination 5. Chlamydia test: Take cervical mucus for testing, which can confirm bacterial vaginitis caused by mycoplasma infection. If you have it, especially those with pain during intercourse, abdominal distension, more than 2 sexual partners, and those who have not improved with continuous medication or have repeated episodes, you need to be checked.

The above is an introduction to the examination methods for vaginitis. I hope it can help you detect vaginitis as early as possible and treat it. Female friends must not ignore some of the early symptoms of vaginitis and should seek treatment as soon as possible. Delaying treatment will only make your condition worse.
