What should women do if they have cervical erosion?

Cervical erosion is called cervical columnar epithelial ectopy in medicine. Cervical columnar epithelial ectopy is usually a normal physiological phenomenon that does not require treatment and can heal on its own; however, if there is inflammation or contact bleeding, treatment is required to rule out malignant lesions such as cervical cancer:

1. Physiological condition: Screening for cervical cancer, HPV and TCT are both negative, asymptomatic, generally due to the effect of estrogen, the endocervical columnar epithelium moves outward to the surface of the cervix, no treatment is required;

2. Pathological conditions: If cervical erosion is accompanied by contact bleeding, cervicitis or vaginitis, antibiotics or local medications can be used according to the doctor's advice based on the routine results of the leucorrhea test. If the bleeding frequency is high, it can also be combined with physical therapy such as laser and microwave, such as the commonly used Lip knife or laser freezing for local excision treatment. The postoperative recovery is good and will not affect normal physiological functions.

It is recommended that patients who have cervical columnar epithelial ectopia should undergo regular HPV and TCT examinations to find out the cause in time to avoid delaying the disease. In daily life, patients should also pay attention to the cleanliness of the genitals, change underwear frequently, and eat light and easily digestible food.
