Is cervical erosion 2 serious? What are the dangers?

Cervical erosion usually refers to cervical columnar epithelial ectopia. Physiological cervical columnar epithelial ectopia is a normal phenomenon and will not cause adverse effects on the body. Cervical erosion 2 may be cervical columnar epithelial ectopia 2, which is relatively serious and may lead to infertility or related complications. In severe cases, it may develop into precancerous lesions. It is recommended to follow the doctor's advice and give appropriate treatment.

1. Infertility: Second degree cervical columnar epithelial ectopia may be moderate cervical columnar epithelial ectopia, which can be manifested as increased vaginal secretions. The secretions contain a large number of white blood cells, which have the function of phagocytizing sperm, causing sperm motility to decrease or even die, which will affect fertility. In severe cases, it will cause women to be infertile.

2. Complications: If it is caused by pathogen infection, it may cause chronic cervicitis. If the pathogen spreads to the uterus, it may cause endometritis.

3. Precancerous lesions: Patients are older and have weakened immunity, so their chances of developing lesions are significantly higher than other people. Long-term chronic inflammation stimulates cervical hyperplasia, which may develop into atypical hyperplasia or precancerous lesions in severe cases.

Cervical columnar epithelial ectopia combined with infection can lead to abnormal secretions. If not treated or the condition progresses further, it may develop into third-degree cervical columnar epithelial ectopia, cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and damage to reproductive organs. If combined with HPV infection, it may also develop into cervical cancer, which is a more serious condition. It is recommended to go to the hospital's gynecology department for diagnosis as soon as possible, identify the type of pathogen, and follow the doctor's advice to give targeted treatment.
