Is uterine cyst serious? What are the dangers?

Uterine cysts can be serious, depending on the size, location, and nature of the cyst. If not treated promptly, it may cause some complications and discomfort. Uterine cysts sound scary, but not every cyst is serious. Uterine cysts are mainly divided into functional cysts and pathological cysts. Functional cysts are generally not serious. Most of them are caused by fluctuations in hormone levels and often disappear on their own. Pathological cysts require special attention, such as endometriosis cysts or chocolate cysts. These cysts can cause dysmenorrhea, infertility and other problems.

If the cyst is large and presses on the uterus or other organs, it will cause symptoms such as low back pain, lower abdominal pain, and frequent urination. Some cysts may rupture or twist, which is very dangerous and will cause severe abdominal pain, requiring immediate medical attention.

Sometimes, uterine cysts can affect the menstrual cycle, causing irregular menstruation or abnormal bleeding. If not treated in time, it may affect fertility in the long run. Therefore, if you find a uterine cyst, you must have regular checkups and follow the doctor's advice.

In terms of drug treatment, different types of cysts require different medications. Common medications include birth control pills such as Marvelon tablets, which can regulate hormone levels and help cysts shrink. If the cyst is caused by endometriosis, the doctor may prescribe some gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists such as Diphylline injection. Remember, medications must be used as prescribed by the doctor and do not take them randomly.

Whether the uterine cyst is serious or not needs to be analyzed on a case-by-case basis. If problems are found, seek medical attention in a timely manner and follow the doctor's advice to effectively prevent and treat it.
