Does Chinese medicine say that ovulation bleeding is a good thing?

In traditional Chinese medicine, ovulation bleeding is not necessarily a good thing. From a traditional Chinese medicine perspective, ovulation bleeding may be caused by kidney yin deficiency, internal dampness and heat, and blood stasis. Depending on the cause, targeted measures should be taken according to the doctor's advice.

1. Kidney Yin Deficiency: Kidney Yin is insufficient, virtual fire is generated internally, and heat is hidden in Chong and Ren. When the qi is dense, Yang Qi moves internally, virtual fire fights with Yang Qi, damages Yin collaterals, and Chong and Ren are not solid, thus bleeding occurs. For example, some women who work hard for a long time, stay up late or have excessive sex damage their kidney Yin, and are prone to vaginal bleeding during ovulation. Women with kidney Yin deficiency may also have symptoms such as sore waist and knees, dizziness, tinnitus, fever in the five hearts, insomnia and dreaminess.

2. Internal dampness and heat: Spleen deficiency and dampness, or liver depression and spleen deficiency, internal dampness, long-term depression turns into heat, dampness and heat go down, disturbing Chong and Ren, and during the ovulation period, the yang moves inward, causing dampness and heat, damaging blood vessels, and causing bleeding. Some women have an irregular diet and are fond of spicy, fatty, and greasy food, which leads to internal dampness and heat. Vaginal bleeding occurs during the ovulation period, often accompanied by symptoms such as heavy vaginal discharge, yellow and thick, odor, bitter mouth and dry throat. Emotional distress, liver depression turns into fire, and spleen and earth are suppressed, which can also lead to internal dampness and heat, causing bleeding during ovulation.

3. Blood stasis: During the menstrual period and after childbirth, the remaining blood is not completely drained, and the cold evil, heat evil or emotional distress, etc., lead to blood stasis and obstruction of Chong and Ren. During the ovulation period, the Yang Qi moves inside, blood stasis is blocked, and blood does not flow through the menstruation, thus bleeding occurs. Some women have a history of miscarriage or gynecological surgery, which leads to uterine stasis and vaginal bleeding during ovulation, often accompanied by lower abdominal distension and pain, pain in a fixed location, purple tongue or petechiae and ecchymosis and other symptoms.

Traditional Chinese medicine believes that ovulation bleeding is not a good thing. It may reflect the imbalance of yin and yang, internal dampness and heat, or internal blood stasis in the body. If ovulation bleeding occurs, you should seek medical attention in time for a comprehensive examination and diagnosis so that appropriate treatment measures can be taken. At the same time, women should pay attention to maintaining good living habits and mentality in their daily lives, avoid excessive fatigue, staying up late, and mood swings, so as to reduce the occurrence of ovulation bleeding.
