Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion? A few things women should know when checking for cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is a serious disease. If it is not treated promptly, it may cause cervical cancer. Therefore, early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment of cervical erosion are necessary. Cervical erosion can be diagnosed by microscopic examination, but can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Can vaginal ultrasound detect cervical erosion?

Vaginal ultrasound cannot detect cervical erosion. Endoscopic examination is one of the ways to check for cervical erosion. Many hospitals and clinics will use this method to check whether patients have cervical erosion. Cervical smear cytology examination is a routine gynecological examination. It is simple and easy to perform. It is an important auxiliary examination and the preferred initial screening method for anti-cancer investigation.

Intravaginal ultrasound

Vaginal ultrasound, also known as intracavitary ultrasound, is a procedure that involves inserting a long camera into the vagina or anus to observe the pelvic organs. Compared with abdominal ultrasound, the images are clear and real, and the examinee does not need to "hold urine". Married people are examined through the vagina, and single people through the anus.

Purpose of intravaginal B-ultrasound: To check whether the uterus, cervix, uterine wall, etc. have any disease or deformity.

Application scope of intravaginal B-ultrasound

1. The sonographic manifestations of the uterine wall during a normal menstrual cycle and the perfect and immature follicles in normal uterine and ovarian follicles (the so-called "ovulation detection").

2. Benign uterine tumors: 1. Adenomyosis; 2. Uterine fibroids.

3. Uterine malignant tumors: 1. Endometrial cancer; 2. Cervical cancer.

4. Non-neoplastic cysts of the uterus and ovaries: 1. Polycystic ovary syndrome; 2. Chocolate cyst.

5. Uterine and ovarian tumors.

6. Confirm the diagnosis of early pregnancy as soon as possible.

7. Abnormal early pregnancy is especially ectopic pregnancy (i.e. "ectopic pregnancy"), because ectopic pregnancy is a clinical medical crisis, and if it is not treated in time, it may also lead to death, so this point is very important!

How long does it take to do an ultrasound during pregnancy?

The best time for B-ultrasound examination is usually after 5-6 months of pregnancy. The older the gestational age, the less impact the ultrasound has on the fetus. It is generally believed that it is best not to do B-ultrasound for fetuses within 18 weeks of pregnancy, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Of course, except for special circumstances, such as vaginal bleeding, B-ultrasound is needed to determine whether the fetus is alive, whether it is possible to get pregnant again, whether there is abnormal pregnancy or hydatidiform mole, etc.

Experts point out that too many B-ultrasounds within the first two months of pregnancy will affect the embryonic cell breakdown and the human brain. However, during the fourth to sixth months of pregnancy, because the fetal internal organs are not fully developed, too many B-ultrasounds will affect the baby's development and cause abnormalities.

Does ultrasound examination have any effect on the fetus?

Experts say that the sound intensity emitted by the B-ultrasound camera currently used in clinical medicine is less than 10 mW/cm3, and the color ultrasound examination time is usually only 5 to 10 minutes, and the detection time for each human organ is shorter. Therefore, the harm of B-ultrasound examination to the fetus is very small and will not affect the physical and mental growth of the fetus. Therefore, pregnant women do not need to have psychological fear of B-ultrasound examination during pregnancy. Appropriate B-ultrasound examination is an important way to ensure the normal growth and development of the fetus.
