Is second-degree cervical erosion serious? What are the symptoms and hazards of second-degree cervical erosion?

The symptoms of cervical erosion are divided into three levels according to the severity: mild, moderate, and severe. Second-degree cervical erosion refers to the situation where the area of cervical erosion exceeds 1/3 to 2/3 of the total area of cervix. Compared with the erosion degree of mild cervical erosion, second-degree cervical erosion is severe erosion and has a more serious onset. So, what will happen to female patients with second-degree cervical erosion?

1. Is second-degree cervical erosion serious?

Second degree cervical erosion is the most serious degree of cervical erosion, and the erosion area has reached 1/3 to 2/3 of the cervical surface; if it develops into third degree cervical erosion, the chances of infertility and cancer will increase greatly. There are generally three types of cervical erosion, mild, moderate and severe. If a woman of childbearing age has mild cervical erosion and does not have any symptoms, she can go without treatment. There are some physiological factors that cause erosion. If it is moderate to severe erosion, it must be confirmed in a regular hospital. Except for cervical cancer, some physical treatments can be used. Microwave, laser cryoablation and radiofrequency ablation are more commonly used now. These treatments are more effective and generally one treatment may be enough. Or twice.

2. Symptoms of second-degree cervical erosion

Increased leucorrhea

Increased vaginal discharge is the main symptom of cervical erosion. The vaginal discharge of patients with cervical erosion will be yellow, light yellow, sticky, or purulent. The vaginal discharge has a peculiar smell and irritates the vulva, causing itching.

Lumbar pain

An obvious symptom of second-degree cervical erosion is lumbosacral pain, pelvic sinking feeling, dysmenorrhea, etc. Since second-degree cervical erosion causes deeper pathogen infiltration in patients and the disease affects a wider range, it will cause inflammation of the paracervical connective tissue, thus causing lumbosacral pain in patients. If women with cervical erosion are not treated in time, the disease may worsen and may even become cancerous, endangering the patient's life.

Urinary system discomfort

When women suffer from second-degree cervical erosion, the inflammation of the cervix will gradually spread to the female bladder triangle, thereby irritating the female bladder area, causing women to develop urinary system diseases such as frequent urination, painful urination, urinary tract infection, etc., endangering the health of the female urinary system.

3. The harm of second-degree cervical erosion

Cause infertility

When suffering from second-degree cervical erosion, cervical secretions will increase significantly, become thick in texture, and contain a large number of white blood cells, which will have an adverse effect on sperm motility, hinder sperm from entering the uterine cavity, and affect conception.

Causes complications

If the second-degree erosion is not treated in time, the inflammation will penetrate and spread to other organs. For example, chronic inflammation can easily lead to cervical polyps, lacerations, etc. under the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation.

Cervical lesions

Second-degree erosion worsens further, the local immunity of the cervix decreases, and the resistance to pathogens is weak. If treatment is not timely at this time, it is easy to cause cervical lesions due to abnormal proliferation of lesion cells.

Warm reminder: In clinical practice, cervical erosion often has unclear symptoms for women, which may cause them to be careless and not treat the disease too carefully. In the end, the condition becomes more serious and becomes difficult to treat. Here we remind you that cervical erosion should not be underestimated and you should go to the hospital for examination and treatment as soon as possible so as to recover as soon as possible.
