What should be paid attention to in the treatment of uterine fibroids? Traditional Chinese medicine treatment method for uterine fibroids

The incidence of uterine fibroids has been high in recent years, posing a huge threat to women's health. Generally, patients with uterine fibroids hope to solve this problem through conservative drug treatment. After all, hysterectomy is a double blow to women's physiology and psychology. How to choose the treatment method for uterine fibroids? There are many treatment methods for uterine fibroids, roughly including hormone therapy, surgical treatment, interventional treatment and traditional Chinese medicine treatment. So, what treatment method to choose, in fact, conservative and surgical, the advantages of Western medicine and traditional Chinese medicine should be judged according to the following circumstances, let us understand together.

In addition to the blood-activating and stasis-removing therapy of traditional Chinese medicine, drug treatment mainly includes some hormone drugs, such as methyltestosterone, testosterone propionate, norethindrone, methylprogesterone, methylprogesterone and luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone analogs. If the patient's fibroid symptom is heavy bleeding, taking traditional Chinese medicine can significantly reduce the amount of bleeding and improve pain symptoms, but it usually does not have a magical effect in eliminating a large number of fibroids.

If the patient is over 40-50 years old and has started menopause, and has no clinically significant bleeding, pain, or other symptoms, the expected menopause treatment can be used. This method does not require any medication or other surgical treatment. Internal gynecological diagnosis is performed every 3 months, with B-ultrasound examination.

If the tumor does not grow rapidly and the bleeding and pain symptoms do not worsen, then as you age, the sex hormone levels will decrease and you can "expect" the uterine fibroids to shrink.

If the size of the fibroid is equivalent to one and a half months of gestational uterus (5 cm) or more, surgery should generally be considered. In addition, if the fibroid grows rapidly, the tumor protrudes from the abdominal cavity and tends to twist, surgical resection should also be performed. Of course, when deciding on surgery, other indications should also be considered, such as severe anemia, heart disease, general condition, etc.
