Bacterial vaginosis is the most common lower reproductive tract infection in women of childbearing age. It is a mixed infection caused by an imbalance of vaginal bacteria due to an excessive number of certain bacteria. Bacterial vaginosis is not a sexually transmitted disease, but having bacterial vaginosis increases your chances of developing vaginitis. Women who have never had sex may also suffer from bacterial vaginosis.

The most common vaginitis for women of childbearing age is bacterial vaginosis. About one-third of women have bacterial vaginosis, and most don't even know it. This virus is very common, but many don't have any symptoms. Increased vaginal discharge, sometimes with a foul odor, or with vulvar itching and burning, causing vulvar and vaginal discomfort, are the symptoms of patients with bacterial vaginitis. But there are also a few people who don't feel any discomfort. So, what is bacterial vaginosis?
1. Grayish white secretions <br/>Homogeneous, thin, grayish white vaginal secretions often adhere to the vaginal wall. The secretions are characterized by being grayish white, uniform, thin, and adherent to the vaginal wall, making it easy to wipe the secretions off the vagina.
2. Vaginal secretion pH>4.5
The pH value of vaginal secretions is tested through leucorrhea examination. The pH value of vaginal secretions of patients with bacterial vaginosis is greater than 4.5, indicating that there are few lactobacilli in the vagina and abnormal bacterial growth.
3. Clue cells positive <br/> Clue cells were found under a microscope. The so-called clue cells are actually the exfoliated cells in the vagina with a large number of granules attached to the edges, making the edges of the cells unclear. These granules are actually Gardnerella in the vagina, which is a manifestation of anaerobic infection in the vagina.
4. Amine test is positive <br/>The so-called ammonia odor test. This test is to add 1-2 drops of 10% potassium hydroxide (KOH) solution to the vaginal secretions. If a fishy odor (ammonia) is smelled, it indicates that the ammonia odor test is positive, indicating that there are abnormal flora in the vagina. Some people also test sialidase based on the principle that anaerobic bacteria will produce a large amount of sialidase during their growth. If the sialic acid concentration in the vaginal secretions is high, the color of the test will be blue, indicating bacterial vaginosis.
The above 4 items are all ways to detect whether you have bacterial vaginosis. Modern women and men bear the same heavy work. In addition to being tired every day, have you neglected your own health?
