Long-term dysmenorrhea may be caused by endometriosis

Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease. With the development of society, the incidence rate is increasing year by year. Gynecological experts remind: Long-term dysmenorrhea or endometriosis, female friends with long-term dysmenorrhea need to pay attention. Clinically, patients with endometriosis also have dysmenorrhea symptoms. Today we will learn about this common sense.

What is endometriosis?

Endometriosis refers to a gynecological disease with growth function, growing and multiplying outside the uterine cover and uterine body muscle layer. The endometrium is originally a tissue that grows in the uterine cavity, but for some reason, it sometimes "runs" between the uterine muscles or anywhere in the human body. If it is planted and attached in these places, it will become a "troublemaker" and painful. This is a common clinical disease, medically known as endometriosis.

The transitional endometrium often moves to the pelvic cavity, ovary, uterus and rectal cavity, as well as bladder, lungs, etc. Like the "home" endometrium, with the changes in hormones in the body, the migrating endometrium will have local shedding and bleeding, such as menstruation, once a month, or symptoms in the corresponding parts, such as cyclical hematuria, cyclical hemoptysis and cyclical abdominal pain.

Endometriosis Symptoms

1. Dysmenorrhea

As a woman of childbearing age, if she has dysmenorrhea, anal flatulence, and diarrhea, the possibility of endometriosis should be considered.

2. Excessive or irregular menstruation

Menstruation may be early, delayed, prolonged or shortened. Endometriosis often causes increased menstrual volume and prolonged menstruation. It may be caused by endometrial hyperplasia, but most of them are accompanied by ovarian insufficiency.

3. Infertility

For women, when she has no other reasons for infertility, she should consider whether she has endometriosis. According to the current examination, 10 infertile women are examined without any other symptoms, and 3 of them have endometriosis. If these 10 women have chronic pelvic pain, 8 of them have endometriosis, so infertility is the main problem of endometriosis.

4. Pain during sexual intercourse

The misplaced endometrium causes swelling of the surrounding tissue and can cause pain during sexual intercourse, especially during the premenstrual period.

5. Bowel distension: usually occurs before or after menstruation. The patient will feel pain when stool passes through the rectum, but not at other times. It is a typical symptom of endometriosis near the uterine rectal fossa and rectum. Occasionally, the ectopic endometrium is deep into the rectal mucosa, and there is rectal bleeding during menstruation. Endometriosis is similar to cancer because it is narrow around the rectum, with mild, severe and obstructive symptoms.

6. Bladder symptoms: Most of them are caused by endometriosis to the bladder. They have periodic urination frequency and urinary pain. Periodic hematuria may occur when the bladder mucosa is affected.

Endometriosis is a common disease, and even in obstetrics and gynecology, it is considered to be one of the top two diseases with the highest incidence. Among 100 women of childbearing age, 10 women suffer from endometriosis, but the severity varies. As a disease that requires surgery and drug treatment, endometriosis is also a major disease of hospital patients, even accounting for about half of gynecological patients.
