Can a woman with amenorrhea get pregnant? Amenorrhea is a common gynecological phenomenon. There are many factors that induce the disease. Clinically, it is mainly divided into physiological amenorrhea and pathological amenorrhea according to different causes. Among them, physiological amenorrhea is normal, while pathological amenorrhea has a complex cause and will seriously affect fertility. It must be actively treated. The maintenance of a normal menstrual cycle in women depends on the coordination of the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, and ovarian functions, as well as the cyclical response of the endometrium to sex hormones. Any abnormality in this process may cause amenorrhea. Most women with amenorrhea do not ovulate, so they cannot get pregnant normally. If it is incomplete amenorrhea, the possibility of pregnancy cannot be ruled out. Experts say that except for physiological amenorrhea, such as postmenopausal women and pregnant women, other amenorrhea is pathological, and the reasons are as follows: (1) Ovarian amenorrhea: mainly caused by ovarian diseases. Because the estrogen level is too low, it cannot promote endometrial hyperplasia, such as congenital ovarian dysplasia, premature ovarian failure, etc. These women have low estrogen levels, but normal or high gonadotropin levels, and can be treated with artificial cycles. (2) Uterine amenorrhea: This is caused by the endometrium not responding to hormones or not responding sensitively. It is common in endometrial tuberculosis, endometrial damage, endometrial adhesions, and uterine hypoplasia. Even with artificial hormone regulation, these patients cannot shed their endometrium and bleed. (3) Pituitary amenorrhea: The occurrence of amenorrhea is related to abnormal pituitary function, such as cranial and brain damage in women, and after cranial and brain radiotherapy. (4) Hypothalamic amenorrhea: Abnormalities in the hypothalamus may be caused by organic diseases of the nervous system, such as tumors, ischemia, inflammation, etc., or may be caused by mental aspects, environmental changes, systemic diseases, malnutrition or drug effects. Although amenorrhea will affect women's normal conception to a certain extent, our medical technology is relatively advanced nowadays, and there are many methods to treat amenorrhea. As long as patients actively undergo examinations and treatments, they can successfully become pregnant, have their own baby, and realize their wish of becoming a mother. |
