Gynecological diseases seriously endanger women's health. Amenorrhea is one of the common gynecological diseases. Clinically, there are many patients with this disease. According to different causes of the disease, it is mainly divided into physiological amenorrhea and pathological amenorrhea. Physiological amenorrhea is a normal state, so you don’t have to worry too much. Pathological amenorrhea requires active treatment. Let us take a closer look at the causes and hazards of amenorrhea. Causes of amenorrhea: There are many, complex causes of amenorrhea, which can be divided into four categories based on the physiological process of menstruation. (1) Uterine causes. Also called uterine amenorrhea, it is amenorrhea caused by uterine problems, such as congenital absence of the uterus, uterine hypoplasia, or childhood diseases involving the endometrium, resulting in adhesions or scars. Although the ovaries function well and female characteristics develop normally, there is no menstruation. (2) Ovarian causes. Also known as ovarian amenorrhea. Normal menstruation occurs because the hormones secreted by the ovaries act on the endometrium, causing it to change, then shed and bleed. If the ovaries cannot secrete hormones, the endometrium will not change and menstruation will stop naturally, such as congenital ovarian dysplasia, premature ovarian failure, etc. (3) Pituitary causes. This is called pituitary amenorrhea. The pituitary gland is located below the brain. It is very small, but it controls the endocrine organs throughout the body. When the pituitary function changes, the ovarian function decreases. Common pituitary diseases are tumors and hypopituitarism. (4) Central nervous system causes. The central nervous system includes the brain and hypothalamus, which command the activities of the pituitary gland and indirectly control the function of the ovaries. When the central nervous system is stimulated, the ovarian function changes and causes amenorrhea. For example, amenorrhea may occur suddenly when one is heartbroken, loses a loved one, or fails at work. It can also be caused by a hypothalamic tumor. The harms of amenorrhea: The harms caused by amenorrhea vary depending on the age at which women become amenorrhea and the causes of amenorrhea. 1. Osteoporosis and hypertension: Amenorrhea can cause a series of menopausal symptoms in women, and can cause osteoporosis and limb weakness in women after menopause. Due to the increase in triglycerides, cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein, it is also easy to cause arteriosclerosis, coronary heart disease and hypertension. 2. Decreased libido: Amenorrhea is a common gynecological symptom that has adverse effects on the patient's body. It can cause uterine atrophy or physiological dysfunction, such as pain during sexual intercourse, decreased secretions, and decreased libido. 3. Accelerated aging: Symptoms of premature menopause caused by premature ovarian failure will accelerate female aging, causing cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, osteoporosis, decreased sleep quality, urinary pain, frequent urination, sexual disharmony, etc. Blind dieting can lead to amenorrhea in women of childbearing age, cause endocrine disorders, atrophy of reproductive organs, and affect reproductive function. Therefore, women with premature menopause need timely treatment. Finally, it will cause infertility. Women with amenorrhea should first determine the degree of amenorrhea in order to induce ovulation and make them pregnant. Patients with mild amenorrhea may have ovulation cycles. Patients with moderate amenorrhea have extremely low estrogen levels, no proliferative changes in the endometrium, and basically no development of follicles, which ultimately causes female infertility. |
