Uterine cyst is not a professional term related to obstetrics and gynecology. Uterine cyst usually refers to cervical cyst, which is a kind of chronic cervicitis and a common gynecological disease. Experts point out that uterine cyst generally has no clinical symptoms and can only be found during regular gynecological examinations. Gynecological examinations can touch cystic masses on one or both sides of the uterus, which can be separated from the uterus and do not move with the movement of the uterus.

The cause of uterine cysts is similar to that of acne on the face. During the healing process of cervical erosion, the new squamous epithelium covers the opening of the cervical gland duct or extends into the gland duct, blocking the opening of the gland duct; the connective tissue around the gland duct proliferates or scars form, compressing the gland duct, causing the gland duct to narrow or even block, and the drainage of glandular secretions is blocked. The cyst formed by retention is called cervical nabothian cyst.

When examining cervical cysts, you can see multiple bluish-white cysts of varying sizes (not purple) protruding from the surface of the cervix. They contain mucus, and the small ones are as big as rice grains, the large ones are as big as corn kernels, and some can grow very large. Some cervical cysts will have the characteristic of protruding from the surface of the cervix, and even worse, they can reach the vaginal opening. The root is connected to the cervix by a pedicle, and is often accompanied by cervical hypertrophy.
