Overview of threatened miscarriage

Threatened abortion has a great impact on pregnant women and fetuses. If it is not treated in time to protect the fetus after it is discovered, the harm to the fetus will be fatal. In order to avoid the occurrence of threatened abortion, it is necessary for pregnant women to have a certain understanding of the basic knowledge of threatened abortion. Here I will introduce to you an overview of threatened abortion.

Threatened abortion refers to the manifestation of abortion, but after the treatment of pregnancy preservation, the pregnancy may not continue to full term. It often occurs in the early pregnancy, with early medication reaction, a small amount of vaginal bleeding, less bleeding than menstrual volume, accompanied by mild intermittent uterine contractions. Gynecological examination shows that the uterus is not dilated, the amniotic sac is not ruptured, the size of the uterus is consistent with the month of menopause, and the pregnancy test is positive. It is generally seen in luteal insufficiency and increased uterine sensitivity. If the amount of vaginal bleeding increases or the pain in the lower abdomen intensifies, it may develop into inevitable miscarriage. The uterus is more sensitive in the first three months of pregnancy, and sometimes there is slight lower abdominal pain, but this is not a threatened abortion. In this case, you should pay attention to rest and go to the hospital in time to see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment to preserve the fetus.

There are many reasons for threatened abortion, the main reason is embryo abnormality caused by genetic factors. If this abnormally developed fetus is born at full term, it will also be deformed or abnormal. In addition, insufficient oxygen supply to the umbilical cord and amniotic fluid disease are also one of the causes of threatened abortion. If the pregnant woman is emotionally unstable or malnourished during pregnancy, it can also cause abortion.

Other reasons such as insufficient oxygen supply to the umbilical cord, amniotic fluid disease, placental virus infection and certain gynecological inflammation can also cause miscarriage. Malnutrition of pregnant women is also one of the causes of miscarriage. Some pregnant women have severe nausea and vomiting in the early stages of pregnancy, resulting in extreme nutritional deficiency, which has a great impact on the development of the embryo and is also prone to miscarriage.

Since more than half of threatened miscarriages are caused by genetic factors of the embryo itself, doctors usually adopt the principle of survival of the fittest and do not blindly adopt fetal preservation treatment. Only when the cause of threatened miscarriage is clear (such as insufficient progesterone secretion, cervical incompetence, etc.), the doctor may give you corresponding treatment.
