Overview of threatened miscarriage

Many female friends have gone through untold hardships to finally get pregnant. If they are diagnosed with threatened miscarriage, it is such a sad thing. Because threatened miscarriage is a special type of miscarriage, there will be related symptoms before it happens. Patients need to pay special attention. Let me give you a brief introduction to threatened miscarriage.

There are symptoms of miscarriage, but after treatment to preserve the fetus, the pregnancy may not continue to full term. It often occurs in the early stages of pregnancy and is characterized by early medication reaction, a small amount of vaginal bleeding, less than the menstrual volume, and mild intermittent uterine contractions. This is called threatened abortion. Early threatened abortion occurs within 12 weeks of pregnancy, and those after this are called late threatened abortion.

Early threatened abortion is clinically manifested as early pregnancy reaction after menopause, followed by a small amount of vaginal bleeding, which may come and go, or continue to bleed continuously, with red color, and last for several days or weeks, without abdominal pain or with slight lower abdominal distension, back pain and lower abdominal distension. Generally, the main manifestation of threatened abortion is a small amount of vaginal bleeding after pregnancy. Depending on the amount of bleeding and the time it accumulates in the vagina, the color may be bright red, pink or dark brown. Sometimes it is accompanied by slight lower abdominal pain, a feeling of falling when the fetus moves, and backache and abdominal distension. According to the traditional folk saying, the main basis for threatened abortion is spotting.

Gynecological examination can reveal that the cervix is not open, the size of the uterus is consistent with the number of weeks of amenorrhea, and no pregnancy products are discharged. After bed rest and related pregnancy-preserving treatment, the clinical symptoms disappear and the pregnancy can continue. If symptoms such as vaginal bleeding, abdominal pain or backache continue to worsen, it may further develop into inevitable miscarriage.

About half of the patients with threatened abortion will have miscarriage. Excessive bleeding may lead to infection, or even sepsis and death. Therefore, if you have symptoms of threatened abortion, you must go to the hospital for examination in time. Especially if you have vaginal bleeding in the first 3 months of pregnancy, you should go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible, and do not try to keep the baby at home.

The principle of treating threatened abortion is to preserve the fetus, but because abnormal fertilized egg is a common cause of miscarriage, forcing the fetus to be preserved will often result in malformed or defective babies. From the perspective of eugenics, if general treatment is ineffective, termination of pregnancy should be advocated.
