What causes recurrent pelvic peritonitis?

Chronic pelvic peritonitis is usually caused by incomplete treatment of acute pelvic peritonitis. The condition is stubborn and lasts for a long time. Therefore, when we find that there is something wrong with our body, we must go to the hospital in time to find out the cause. So, what is the reason for the recurrence of pelvic peritonitis?

1. Infection after abortion or miscarriage

Abortion is very harmful to a woman's health and can also cause various inflammations. Whether it is abortion or postpartum, the physical condition of women will be weaker than before. The cervical opening has not yet completely closed, and bacteria can easily exist in the lower body or cervix, causing pelvic infection.

2. Infection after various gynecological surgeries

Many gynecological diseases can be treated through surgery, but if there is improper operation during the operation and there is already varying degrees of inflammation in the reproductive system, it may lead to postoperative infection. Some patients do not pay attention to the hygiene of their private parts after the operation, or do not follow the doctor's advice and have sex too early. These unclean habits may cause bacterial infection and lead to pelvic peritonitis.

3. Not paying attention to hygiene during menstruation

Women are prone to bacteria during menstruation, because menstruation is the shedding of the endometrium and the presence of blood clots, which creates good conditions for the production of bacteria. If women do not pay attention to their personal hygiene during this period, or use unqualified sanitary napkins, or even have sex, these will give bacteria the opportunity to create infection and eventually lead to pelvic peritonitis.

4. Spread of inflammation to adjacent reproductive systems

If there is inflammation in the adjacent areas of the female reproductive system, these bacteria can directly spread and cause pelvic peritonitis in women. Common adjacent inflammations include appendicitis and peritonitis. If chronic cervicitis is not treated in time, the inflammation can also cause pelvic peritonitis through lymphatic circulation.

Although pelvic peritonitis is a relatively common gynecological disease, its symptoms are not very obvious. Female friends must pay more attention to it and go to regular hospitals for routine gynecological examinations.
