Who are the most susceptible to uterine fibroids?

Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. They can occur alone or in multiple locations. Uterine fibroids are more common in women aged 30 to 50, with a higher incidence in women aged 40 to 50. Women who are childless, have sexual dysfunction, or are depressed are also at high risk of uterine fibroids.

1. Women without children

If a woman has a complete pregnancy process in her lifetime, the incidence of some gynecological tumors such as breast cancer can be reduced. Women who have not given birth are prone to hormone-dependent diseases because they cannot get timely and effective protection from progesterone, so they are prone to uterine fibroids.

2. Women with sexual dysfunction

Normal sexual stimulation between couples can promote the normal functioning of neuroendocrine, good and normal secretion of hormones, and ensure the normal "functioning" of various parts of the body. If women have long-term sexual dysfunction, it can cause endocrine dysfunction, lead to chronic pelvic congestion, and induce uterine fibroids.

3. Women with depression

Women aged 30 to 50 face the dual pressures of work and life. If negative emotions are not relieved in a timely and effective manner, they are prone to depression. The long-term impact of mental and neurological factors can lead to endocrine disorders and thus uterine fibroids. At the same time, middle-aged women are facing the arrival of menopause. Their own depression, coupled with changes in physical functions and hormones in the body, are also important causes of uterine fibroids.
