Bartholinitis MRI

Bartholinitis MRI

MRI examination is also an important reference for the diagnosis of Bartholinitis. Because the cost of MRI is relatively high, it is rarely used to diagnose Bartholinitis. Let us learn together what we need to pay attention to when doing MRI examination of Bartholinitis.

Take off all ornaments

During the test, the strong magnetic field will attract any metal objects and may cause injury, so be sure to remove all jewelry, including jewelry around your belly button and feet.

Don't wear makeup

Some cosmetics contain metals, which will react with magnetic fields. So on the day of the examination, do not wear makeup, including nail polish, antiperspirants, sunscreen, etc. It is best not to use hair care products.

You may feel anxious

Some people may feel fear or anxiety during the test, similar to a feeling of claustrophobia. So it is best to close your eyes before entering the machine and keep them closed during the entire process. You may want to imagine something more interesting, or a person or pet you like. Some people need to take anti-anxiety medication.

The search may take longer than you expected.

The standard procedure is only about 15 minutes, but it can stretch to up to an hour, so you may want to eat something before the procedure and be sure to go to the bathroom.

There was a lot of noise during the inspection.

You may hear loud noises, such as a hammer drill at 82 to 118 decibels, so it is best to wear earplugs in advance. Some people, especially children, may be frightened, so they need to take sedatives to be examined quietly. Of course, there are silent MRI machines, but it will take some time for them to be popularized in various hospitals.

You may feel hot.

The body surface temperature may rise by about 1 degree Celsius due to the radio waves, so some people may feel hot during the examination. Don't worry and stay calm.

Don't move.

If you move during the inspection, you will have to do it again.

The above is an introduction to MRI examination of Bartholinitis. I hope it will be helpful to you.
