What is the diagnosis basis of Bartholinitis? Bartholinitis is mainly caused by bacterial infection of the Bartholin glands, which in turn causes poor drainage of the gland duct opening. However, before prevention and treatment, we must first understand how to diagnose Bartholinitis. How is Bartholinitis Diagnosed? 1. Medical history It is more common after sexual intercourse, childbirth or other situations that contaminate the vulva. 2. Clinical manifestations (I) This disease usually occurs in one side of the Bartholin's gland. When acute inflammation occurs, patients often complain of swelling of the vulva, severe pain, and difficulty urinating and walking. After the ulcer breaks, the patient feels light and comfortable. If the rupture is large and the pus can drain smoothly, the inflammation can subside quickly and heal; if the rupture is small and the pus cannot drain smoothly, the inflammation may continue to persist and may recur acutely. 3. Auxiliary examination The secretions from the opening of the Bartholin's glands were collected for pathogenic microbiological examination and antibiotic sensitivity test. Differential Diagnosis The difference between Bartholin's gland abscess and Bartholin's gland cyst: the common point is that there is a lump in the Bartholin's gland. The difference is that Bartholin's gland abscess has local pain, often accompanied by chills and fever. Examination of the Bartholin's gland lump shows redness of the surface skin, obvious tenderness, and fluctuation. When squeezed, pus may overflow from the opening of the Bartholin's gland. In Bartholin's gland cyst, the skin color of the vestibular lump remains unchanged, the lump is cystic, and there is no tenderness. When the lump is squeezed, no pus overflows from the opening of the Bartholin's gland. |
