The causes of menopause are very complex. Some are due to organ dysfunction, some are due to organic organ lesions, and some are due to other diseases. Clinically, they can be divided into two types: deficiency and excess. So what are the causes of menopause? (1) Liver and kidney deficiency: Menopause in young girls is mostly caused by inadequate congenital endowment, insufficient kidney qi, insufficient liver blood, insufficient Chong and Ren meridians, and inability to produce menstrual blood, leading to menopause. Menopause in women is mostly caused by frequent childbirth, or long-term illness affecting the kidneys, resulting in insufficient kidney essence, liver blood, Chong and Ren meridians, and overflow of blood from the uterus. (2) Deficiency of Qi and blood: weak spleen and stomach, insufficient source of energy, or overeating, overwork, excessive worry, which damage the heart and spleen; or serious illness, long-term illness, blood loss, or breastfeeding for too long, which leads to deficiency of blood, Chong and Ren blood deficiency, and lack of blood production, resulting in menopause. (3) Yin deficiency and blood dryness: Yin deficiency due to congenital Yin, or due to blood loss, or due to long-term illness, tuberculosis, excessive consumption of spicy and dry foods, which damages Yin. Yin deficiency generates heat that burns the Ying Yin, causing the blood sea to dry up and lead to menopause. (4) Qi stagnation and blood stasis: The seven emotions cause internal injuries, which can cause Qi stagnation and blood stasis. Or during menstruation and childbirth, when the blood chamber is open, external injuries such as wind-cold or internal injuries such as raw food and cold, the blood stagnates when it encounters cold; or pathogenic heat burns the yin, causing the yin to become astringent. Qi stagnation and blood stasis are the causes of the disease, which can cause Chong and Ren meridians to stagnate and the uterine vessels to be blocked, resulting in the cessation of menstruation. (5) Obstruction of Phlegm and Dampness: Obese people have more dampness. Because the spleen yang loses its warmth, the dampness gathers into phlegm, which blocks the Chong and Ren meridians, causing obstruction in the uterine vessels and preventing menstruation from flowing. In addition to the above reasons, some congenital abnormalities in the development of reproductive organs or acquired organic injuries can also lead to menopause, such as congenital absence of uterus and ovaries, or acquired damage to ovaries, or pituitary tumors: or congenital defects of the cervix, vagina, hymen, labia, etc., or acquired injuries causing adhesions and closures, and menstrual blood cannot overflow, etc.; postpartum hemorrhage leading to pituitary infarction (i.e. Sheehan's syndrome), long-term use of contraceptive drugs, etc. can also cause menopause. |
