Can endometriosis heal itself? Experts say that endometriosis is difficult to heal without treatment. It is a stubborn chronic disease that seriously endangers the health of female friends. Once discovered, it is necessary to go to a regular hospital for treatment as soon as possible.

Imaging tests for endometriosis

(1) B-mode ultrasound examination B-mode ultrasound examination is one of the commonly used examination methods in obstetrics and gynecology, and plays an important role in the diagnosis of obstetrics and gynecology diseases. It can determine the location, size, and shape of cysts and find masses that were not palpable during gynecological examinations.

(2) Laparoscopic examination: Using a laparoscope to directly peer into the pelvic cavity, ectopic lesions can be seen or biopsied to confirm the diagnosis. The clinical staging and treatment plan of pelvic endometriosis can be determined based on the results of the laparoscopic examination. During laparoscopy, attention should be paid to observing the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, uterosacral ligaments, pelvic peritoneum, etc. for endometriosis lesions. Endometriosis is staged and scored based on the findings of laparoscopic examination or surgery.

(3) X-ray examination can be performed alone to assist in the diagnosis of pelvic endometriosis by using pelvic pneumatic angiography and hysterosalpingography.

(4) Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) MRI can directly image in multiple planes, intuitively understand the scope, origin and invaded structure of the lesion, accurately locate the lesion, and enhance the ability to display soft tissue. Therefore, MRI is of great value in diagnosing endometriosis and understanding pelvic lesions and adhesions.

Surgical treatment of endometriosis

It is generally believed that chocolate cysts on the ovaries are often large in size, or endometriotic nodules in other parts of the body with a diameter of more than 2 cm are difficult to control with drugs and require surgical treatment; or if the condition does not improve after six months or even a year of drug treatment, surgical removal should also be considered. If the patient is young and has no children, during surgery, only the endometriotic lesions are usually removed, while the uterus and normal ovarian tissue are retained. This is called conservative surgery. This surgery retains the possibility of fertility, but the chance of recurrence is greater. If the patient already has children and is older (35), the uterus can be removed at the same time as the endometriotic lesions, but the normal ovarian tissue is retained. This method is better than conservative surgery in the long run, but it cannot absolutely prevent recurrence. If the patient is close to menopause, or the endometriotic lesions are too extensive to be completely eradicated, the uterus and ovaries should be removed at the same time during surgery.

The widespread use of laparoscopy in recent years has provided a new option for the treatment of endometriosis. Especially in foreign countries, the combination of laparoscopic surgery and the drug "goserelin" has become an increasingly widespread treatment option.

The above article explains to us in detail about the disease of endometriosis. In daily life, the widespread use of laparoscopy will provide a new option for the treatment of endometriosis, especially looking abroad, so the scope of treatment is getting wider and wider, and the effect is getting better and better, so we must take effective treatment measures to carry out
