What are the symptoms of cervicitis?

Cervicitis is one of the common gynecological diseases, which is more common in women of childbearing age. It is caused by damage to the cervix and invasion of pathogens, including inflammation of the cervical vagina and inflammation of the cervical canal mucosa. Clinically, cervicitis is divided into acute and chronic types, with chronic inflammation being the most common.

The symptoms of cervicitis mainly include the following aspects:

1. Abnormal leucorrhea: The most common symptom of cervicitis is increased leucorrhea, which may appear mucopurulent, bloody or yellow watery.

2. Vaginal bleeding: It may manifest as bleeding after sexual intercourse, bleeding between menstruation or bleeding after menopause.

3. Pain: Cervicitis may cause pain in the lower abdomen or lumbosacral region, and in severe cases may radiate to the legs.

4. Urinary tract symptoms: such as frequent urination, urgency, and pain during urination, may be caused by cervical inflammation spreading to the bladder.

5. Vulvar itching: Inflammation may cause vulvar itching or discomfort.

6. Discomfort during sexual intercourse: You may feel pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse.

7. Abnormal gynecological examination: The cervix may be congested and edematous, and cervical erosion or polyps may sometimes be seen.

8. Systemic symptoms: such as fever, leukocytosis, etc., may occur in acute cervicitis.

These symptoms may not always occur, and the severity varies from person to person. If you experience related symptoms, it is recommended that you seek medical attention for examination and treatment in a timely manner. At the same time, maintaining good living habits and personal hygiene is also one of the important measures to prevent cervicitis.
