Recommended medication for amenorrhea in women

Amenorrhea is a common endocrine disease in women, which is divided into primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea refers to women who have not had their first menstruation by the age of 18; secondary amenorrhea refers to women who initially had normal menstruation, but then stopped menstruating for more than 6 months due to illness, medication or other reasons.

(1) Treatment with Chinese patent medicine:

A. Gynecological Regulating Menstruation Tablets or Wujin Pills. Suitable for amenorrhea after abortion due to qi stagnation and blood stasis. Symptoms of this condition include amenorrhea after abortion, periodic lower abdominal pain, and lower abdominal distension and hardness that refuses to be pressed. Chest and flank pain, breast distension, frequent belching, and emotional discomfort. Dark tongue or ecchymosis, thin white fur, and stringy or astringent pulse.

B. Wuji Baifeng Pills or Guilu Bazhen Pills. Suitable for amenorrhea after abortion due to deficiency of Chong and Ren meridians. Symptoms of this disease include amenorrhea after abortion and dull pain in the lower abdomen. Pale complexion, fatigue, soreness of waist and knees. Pale tongue, thin fur, deep, thin and weak pulse. Treatment should be to tonify the kidney and spleen, and regulate Chong and Ren meridians.

C. Shaofu Zhuyu Pills or Aifu Nuangong Pills. Suitable for post-abortion amenorrhea due to cold stagnation of uterus. Symptoms of this type include amenorrhea after abortion, cold pain in waist and abdomen, cold body and limbs, clear and long urine, clear and thin leucorrhea, dark complexion, thin white tongue coating, deep and tight pulse or deep and slow pulse.

(2) Treatment with proven prescriptions:

A. 10g of Cyperus rotundus, 12g each of Millettia reticulata and Rubia cordifolia. Decoction in water.

B. 30g each of bergamot and chuanxiong. Decoction in water.

C. 30g of Astragalus, 10g each of Psoralea corylifolia, Morinda officinalis and Ze Lan. Decoction in water.

D. Take 12g each of Dipsacus asper and Codonopsis pilosula, 18g each of Viscum album and Cuscuta australis, and 6g of Cyperus rotundus. Decoct in water and drink.

E. 15g each of mugwort leaf and motherwort, 6g of madder. Decoction in water.
