Drugs for the treatment of vaginal fungal infection

Drugs for the treatment of vaginal fungal infection

Both candidal vaginitis and trichomoniasis are types of vaginitis. Although the incidence of candidal vaginitis is not as high as that of trichomoniasis, it is also very common in gynecological diseases. How should you treat candidal vaginitis? Candidal vaginitis can be divided into Western medicine, Chinese medicine and the combination of Chinese and Western medicine. The following mainly introduces the methods of treating candidal vaginitis with Western medicine.

1. Change the pH of the vagina, such as flushing the vagina with alkaline drugs, or flushing the vagina with 2-4% soda solution to change the living environment of mold.

2. Medication

(1) Apply disinfectant gel locally

(2) Oral ketoconazole

(3) Trichomycin. For details, see the treatment of trichomoniasis vaginitis. In addition, clotrimazole or clofentazole 0.5-1 g orally

(5) Topical application of 1 to 2 percent gentian violet solution is a long-standing treatment method that is also very effective and widely used, but it has the disadvantage of contaminating underwear. (Currently, the country has banned the use of gentian violet drugs because they have a strong carcinogenic effect, so be careful)

Pregnant women with candidal vaginitis may recover after delivery, but the newborn is at risk of infection, so timely treatment is still required, with topical medication such as Oqins being the best choice.

3. Male carriers must also receive routine treatment, which is one of the important measures to prevent recurrence in female patients.

4. To prevent the recurrence of candidal vaginitis, after the vagina is flushed with soda solution, you can use a weakly acidic feminine care solution with a pH of 4 for daily cleaning to maintain the self-cleaning function of the vagina.

The above is about the method of using Western medicine to treat candidal vaginitis. In fact, Chinese and Western medicine have their own advantages in treating candidal vaginitis. Chinese medicine takes a long time to take effect but eradicates it more thoroughly. Western medicine has significant effects, but because it takes effect quickly, many patients will stop treatment when they find that their condition has improved, so they will develop drug resistance. Therefore, if patients use Western medicine treatment methods, they must insist on treatment and not give up halfway, so as to get rid of the troubles of candidal vaginitis as soon as possible.
