Vulvar leukoplakia is a phenomenon of hypopigmentation of the vulvar skin caused by malnutrition of the female vulva, which causes great trouble to the patient's daily life and work. There are many treatments for vulvar leukoplakia, and various treatments have different effects. 1. Surgical Resection Surgical resection is not the first and best treatment for vulvar leukoplakia. From a Western perspective, vulvar leukoplakia is a precancerous lesion and may develop into vulvar cancer. Surgical resection is likely to become an inducing factor for future canceration, which will damage the patient's quality of life, and the high recurrence rate after surgery is over 80%. 2. Laser, electrothermal treatment The effect of physical therapy such as laser and electrotherapy is unreliable, and it cannot completely remove the diseased tissue thoroughly and deeply, and it is easy to aggravate the atrophy. Because this disease is caused by various factors that hinder the nutrition of the vulva, it is caused by local lack of nutrients, and electrotherapy and laser aggravate the loss of nutrients, thus aggravating the atrophy of the cleft. 3. Traditional ointment for external use Ointments act directly on the skin and have certain short-term effects, but they become ineffective over time and are prone to recurrence. Due to drug dependence, it is difficult to treat the problem fundamentally. 4. Various Chinese medicine therapies Traditional Chinese medicine therapy is suitable for patients with vulvar leukoplakia that has not been cured for a long time or whose condition recurs repeatedly. Local treatment methods such as local Chinese medicine fumigation, external application of medicine, and internal suppository are often used. This not only avoids the toxic and side effects of systemic medication, but also can make the effective concentration of local medicine greatly exceed that obtained by systemic medication. The effect is significantly higher than systemic medication. |
