Three ways to check for uterine fibroids

1. Diagnostic curettage

Smaller submucosal fibroids can be diagnosed with curettage. The curettage should be performed with caution and gentleness, and the movements should be accurate to minimize bleeding, infection, necrosis, and even sepsis caused by scraping the tumor surface.

2. Detection of the uterine cavity

It is a method of detecting and diagnosing uterine fibroids. Uterine intramural fibroids or submucosal fibroids often enlarge and deform the uterine cavity. The size and direction of the uterine cavity can be detected with a uterine probe, which helps to find uterine fibroids and their location. When the uterine cavity is tortuous or blocked by submucosal fibroids, the probe cannot be fully inserted or it is a subserosal fibroid. At this time, the uterine cavity often does not enlarge. Be careful not to cause misdiagnosis.

3. Hysterosalpingography

Hysterosalpingography is of great significance for the early diagnosis of uterine fibroids. Hysterosalpingography can not only show the number and size of submucosal fibroids, but also locate them. The film of the fibroids shows that there is fullness and incompleteness in the uterine cavity.
