What abnormal conditions may occur in women after abortion?

Although abortion surgery is relatively simple to perform, there are still certain risks in the surgery because the uterus is rich in blood vessels and the uterine body becomes soft during pregnancy. The patient may experience the following abnormal conditions after the surgery.

1. Infection

Postoperative infection is mainly caused by incomplete abortion surgery, which results in a small amount of villi or decidua remaining in the uterine cavity. The patient's main symptoms include poor uterine contraction, irregular vaginal bleeding 2 weeks after surgery, bloody leucorrhea with foul odor, fever, etc. If part of the villi or decidua is found blocking the cervical opening during examination, local disinfection should be given while actively fighting infection, and then the residual tissue in the uterine cavity should be removed, and antibiotics and uterotonic drugs should be given in time.

2. Early pregnancy reaction

Some women still have early pregnancy reactions after having an abortion. The reason for this, in addition to the deformity of the uterus itself, is most likely caused by missed suction during the operation, which failed to suck out the embryonic tissue, causing the fetus to continue to grow and develop in the uterus. Pregnant women should not have any illusions at this time and should immediately go to the hospital for another surgery, because the fetus has been severely damaged after the trauma of the first abortion, and even if the baby is delivered at full term, it is very likely to have some defects or lesions.

3. Sudden abdominal pain

If a woman suddenly experiences severe lower abdominal pain after an abortion, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, anal prolapse and other discomforts, or even pale face, cold sweats, cold limbs, and fainting in severe cases, this is most likely the result of uterine perforation caused by the abortion.
