Irregular menstruation is closely related to occupational factors

Irregular menstruation is closely related to occupational factors

Menstruation is a normal physiological phenomenon unique to women, and healthy women have their own regular menstrual cycles. However, certain occupations can interfere with the normal functions of the human body, leading to irregular menstruation and affecting women's health. So, what types of jobs are likely to cause irregular menstruation in women?

1. Female workers in chemical factories

Women working in factories may be exposed to certain industrial toxins, especially those engaged in the production of chemical raw materials, artificial fibers, or the manufacture of carbon tetrachloride, cellophane and other products. They may be exposed to toxic substances such as toluene, xylene, and carbon disulfide. Carbon disulfide can increase the chance of miscarriage in women. Gasoline can also cause menstrual cycle disorders, aggravate menopausal symptoms in menopausal women, and induce pregnancy poisoning.

2. Female athletes

A foreign survey shows that a considerable proportion of female athletes under the age of 18 have menstrual abnormalities, most of which are manifested as late menstruation, irregular cycles, secondary amenorrhea, etc. Medical experts believe that this phenomenon is mainly due to intense exercise inhibiting the function of the hypothalamus, preventing the hypothalamus from secreting progesterone-releasing hormone, thereby interfering with the pituitary gland's release of gonadotropin in a normal cycle, leading to menstrual cycle disorders or amenorrhea.

3. Medical staff

Anesthetic gases in hospital operating rooms and formaldehyde gases used for disinfection are often the root cause of menstrual disorders in female medical workers.
