How to effectively prevent uterine fibroids from worsening

Although uterine fibroids are a benign gynecological tumor, they are also at risk of worsening, so it is important to take active preventive measures.

1. Timely review

After being diagnosed with uterine fibroids, women should go to the hospital for a checkup once a month to see if the fibroids have grown. Do not neglect treatment because the fibroids are small. Even if no special treatment is needed, regular checkups should be conducted and timely treatment measures should be taken according to the development of the disease. If the fibroids grow slowly or have not grown, you can have a checkup once in the second half of the year as recommended by the doctor; if the fibroids grow significantly, surgical treatment should be considered immediately to avoid severe bleeding or compression of abdominal organs. This is a major way to prevent the deterioration of uterine fibroids.

2. Avoid taking estrogen

Patients with uterine fibroids should avoid certain foods that contain high levels of estrogen, especially after menopause, to prevent the uterine fibroids from growing and becoming malignant.

3. Avoid crowds

If a woman has an artificial abortion after suffering from uterine fibroids, it will cause double damage to the uterus and easily cause chronic genital inflammation, which will further cause the uterine fibroids to worsen.

4. Pay attention to menstrual health

If patients with uterine fibroids experience increased menstrual blood volume, they should eat more iron-rich foods to prevent iron deficiency anemia and the malignant transformation of fibroids. They should also eat less spicy foods and avoid excessive fatigue.
