The main signs of ectopic pregnancy are in the abdomen and pelvis

Ectopic pregnancy is a common gynecological acute abdomen, and the patient's physical signs mainly include the following three aspects.

1. Abdominal signs

Abdominal palpation of patients with ectopic pregnancy generally causes local tenderness and rebound pain, especially on the affected side. Some patients may also feel an abdominal mass. If it recurs and accumulates in the abdominal cavity, the abdominal mass will continue to grow and harden. However, due to tense abdominal muscles, auscultation may cause shifting dullness when there is more intra-abdominal bleeding.

2. Pelvic signs

Ectopic pregnancy often causes a small amount of dark red blood in the vagina, which makes the posterior fornix fuller and tender, and there is lifting or swinging pain on palpation of the cervix. The pain will become more severe if the cervix is gently lifted or shaken left and right. This is a major sign of ectopic pregnancy. Some patients have a slightly larger and softer uterus due to a long period of amenorrhea. During palpation, a mass can be felt next to the uterus, and the swollen fallopian tube can be felt. The patient has mild tenderness. If there is more intra-abdominal bleeding, the patient's uterus may feel floating during examination.

3. Routine signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature

Intraperitoneal bleeding caused by ectopic pregnancy often causes the patient to appear anemic, pale, and fatigued.

Weakness, cold and clammy limbs. The patient's blood pressure drops significantly, the pulse is rapid and weak, and the body temperature is generally slightly lower than normal. If shock symptoms occur, the body temperature will drop; if the blood in the abdominal cavity is absorbed, the patient's body temperature may rise slightly, but will not exceed 38°C.
