Clinical manifestations of patients with lichen sclerosus vulvar leukoplakia

Vulvar leukoplakia, also known as chronic vulvar dystrophy, refers to a group of diseases in which female vulvar skin and mucous membranes are dystrophic, leading to tissue degeneration and pigment changes. According to the patient's clinical manifestations, it can be divided into hyperplastic dystrophic vulvar leukoplakia, sclerosing lichen sclerosus dystrophic vulvar leukoplakia, and mixed dystrophic vulvar leukoplakia.

Lichen sclerosus type dystrophic vulvar leukoplakia can occur in women of any age, including girls under 10 years old, but it is more common in women around 40 years old. Clinical manifestations of patients with lichen sclerosus type leukoplakia

1. The affected area of the patient will itch, and patients in the late stage may experience difficulty in sexual intercourse

2. The patient's lesions involve the vulvar skin, mucous membranes and perianal skin.

3. Common affected areas are the clitoral hood, labia minora, and posterior symphysis.

4. In addition to the patient's skin or mucous membrane becoming white, thin, dry, cracked, and losing elasticity, the clitoris is often atrophied and adhered to the foreskin, and the labia minora becomes flat and disappears.

5. In the late stage, the skin of patients shrinks like cigarette paper, and the vaginal opening shrinks and becomes narrow, only wide enough to fit fingertips.

6. Young girls with this disease often feel discomfort in the vulva and perianal area after urinating or defecating. Examination reveals keyhole-shaped yellowish mottled or white lesions in the vulva and perianal area. However, the lesions usually disappear on their own by puberty.

7. Some postmenopausal women experience thinning and shiny vulvar skin, mild tingling, itching and difficulty in sexual intercourse
