Common examination items for cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is not a disease, but a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. In foreign countries, patients with mild inflammation are generally not treated, but only undergo cytological screening and receive corresponding treatment based on the cytological results. For women with symptoms, timely examination is essential for the treatment and recovery of the disease. Common examination items for cervical erosion mainly include:

1. Gynecological examination

The main purpose is to check the condition of the cervix, including the size of the cervix, the thickness of the cervical canal, its shape, texture, echo, and whether there is contact bleeding, etc. At the same time, the condition of the vulva, vagina, uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, pelvic lymph nodes and other paracervical tissues should also be checked.

2. Cervical smear cytology examination

It is a routine gynecological examination, simple, easy, economical and effective, and can be used as the first choice for cancer screening. The specific operation is to collect some secretions from the vagina and cervix of women, smear them on a glass slide, stain them, and then place them under a microscope for examination.

3. Colposcopy

It uses a microscope that magnifies the cervix, combined with light sources and filters, to clearly examine the cervix to observe changes in the cervical epithelium and blood vessels, diagnose whether there are abnormal lesions, and determine the severity of the lesions. Colposcopy can quickly detect lesions that are invisible to the naked eye. Taking biopsies from suspicious areas during colposcopy can significantly improve the accuracy of biopsies.

In addition to the above inspections, commonly used inspection methods also include iodine test, acetic acid white test, visual observation, etc.
