Uterine fibroids, also known as uterine leiomyoma, are the most common benign tumors of the female genitalia. Whether the patient has symptoms and the severity of the symptoms mainly depend on the location, size, number and related complications of the fibroids. Among them, the incidence of uterine fibroids combined with pregnancy accounts for about 0.5% to 1% of fibroid patients, which will have a certain impact on women's pregnancy and childbirth. The main manifestations are as follows: 1. Submucosal fibroids The manifestation is that the intramural fibroids grow into the uterine cavity, protrude from the uterine cavity, and directly contact the mucosal layer, which can gradually enlarge and deform the uterine cavity. There is often a pedicle connected to the uterus. If the pedicle is long, it may block the cervical opening or prolapse into the vagina. It is precisely because of its growth characteristics that submucosal fibroids can affect the implantation of fertilized eggs or cause early miscarriage. 2. Intramural fibroids It is the most common type. When larger intramural fibroids are combined with pregnancy, they can cause mechanical obstruction or deformation of the uterine cavity, thereby affecting the implantation of the fertilized egg or causing early miscarriage. In addition to the above situations, fibroids rapidly enlarge and turn red during pregnancy. Patients may experience severe abdominal pain accompanied by nausea, vomiting, fever and increased white blood cell count. During pregnancy, the uterus becomes congested, tissues edematous, smooth muscle cells hypertrophy, and estrogen levels increase. Fibroids significantly increase in size and gradually shrink after delivery. If the fibroids are small and the patient has no symptoms, they can be easily overlooked during pregnancy and delivery. |
