What are the symptoms of cervical erosion

Cervical erosion refers to the ectopic position of the cervical columnar epithelium. This is a normal physiological phenomenon. Most patients do not have special symptoms. If the cervical opening is infected or stimulated, it is often followed by increased leucorrhea, vulvar itching, contact bleeding, abdominal pain, back pain and other symptoms. The specific symptoms are as follows:

1. Increased leucorrhea: usually increased leucorrhea, which is milky white or light yellow, and sometimes bloody or purulent.

2. Vulvar itching: Increased vaginal discharge irritates the vulva, causing discomfort or itching of the vulva;

3. Contact bleeding: A small amount of vaginal bleeding may occur during intercourse, which usually stops on its own;

4. Abdominal pain and back pain: When the inflammation is more serious, it causes the spread of the uterine fundus ligament and main ligament, which may cause recurrent lower abdominal pain or lower back pain.

For cervical columnar epithelial ectopia without symptoms, it will generally disappear on its own as the estrogen level changes in the body, and no treatment is required. For cervical columnar epithelial ectopia with infection and obvious symptoms, it is recommended to seek medical attention and, under the guidance of a physician, give electrocoagulation, cryosurgery, or laser treatment.
