Abnormal vaginal discharge is a body signal

Abnormal vaginal discharge may be a health signal from the body, indicating gynecological problems or infections. Common causes include vaginitis, cervicitis, changes in hormone levels, etc. You need to seek medical attention in time and take targeted treatment according to the specific symptoms.

1. Vaginitis

Vaginitis is one of the common causes of abnormal vaginal discharge, which may be caused by bacterial, fungal or parasitic infections. Bacterial vaginitis is often accompanied by grayish-white discharge and a fishy smell; fungal vaginitis is characterized by white curd-like discharge and itching; and trichomonas vaginitis may cause yellow-green foamy discharge. In terms of treatment, bacterial vaginitis can be treated with metronidazole or clindamycin; fungal vaginitis is often treated with clotrimazole or fluconazole; and trichomonas vaginitis requires oral metronidazole or tinidazole.

2. Cervicitis

Cervicitis is often caused by infection, injury or chemical irritation, which may lead to increased vaginal discharge, abnormal color or odor. Acute cervicitis is often caused by gonococcal or chlamydia infection, and requires antibiotics such as azithromycin or doxycycline; chronic cervicitis can be treated with local medications, such as Baofukang suppositories or Chinese medicine fumigation.

3. Changes in hormone levels

During the menstrual cycle, pregnancy or menopause, hormone level fluctuations may cause an increase in the amount of vaginal discharge or a change in texture. This usually does not require special treatment, but if it is accompanied by discomfort, it can be relieved by adjusting the diet (such as increasing foods rich in vitamin B) or using Chinese medicine conditioning (such as angelica and white peony root).

4. Other reasons

Abnormal vaginal discharge may also be related to diseases such as endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease or tumors. If the vaginal discharge is bloody or brown or accompanied by abdominal pain, fever and other symptoms, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. Treatments include antibiotics, surgical removal of the lesion or radiotherapy.

Abnormal vaginal discharge is an important signal from the body. You need to seek medical attention and take targeted treatment according to the specific symptoms. Abnormal vaginal discharge can be effectively prevented and managed through proper medication, lifestyle adjustment and regular check-ups.
