Cervical erosion can be divided into pseudo-erosion, true erosion, congenital erosion and acquired erosion. Among them, pseudo-cervical erosion is more common in daily life, and most of the cervical erosion diagnosed clinically belongs to this type, while true cervical erosion belongs to a stage in its pathological process, and its main manifestations are as follows: Cervical erosion refers to the shedding of the epidermis at the external cervical opening, which is replaced by another type of epithelial cells at the cervical opening. Since the new epithelium covering the surface is very thin, you can even see the blood vessels and red tissue underneath, which looks like real erosion. If no appropriate treatment is given at this time, the surface of the cervix will be covered with more mucus or purulent secretions, which will immerse and stimulate the external cervical opening for a long time. In addition, the inflammatory infiltration of the deep tissues of the cervix will cause the squamous epithelium covering the surface of the cervix to lose its vitality and fall off, forming an ulcer, which becomes true cervical erosion. However, the eroded surface is quickly covered by the surrounding columnar epithelium, forming a granular surface with a certain glossy red area, which turns into pseudo-erosion. If true cervical erosion is not treated in time or not treated at all, it will often endanger women's health and may cause female infertility; it will lead to endometritis and chronic pelvic inflammatory disease in women, and long-term inflammatory stimulation can cause deeper lesions such as polyps, ectropion, cysts, etc., and it will also increase the risk of women suffering from cervical cancer. Therefore, early and active treatment is very important. |
