Indications and contraindications for medical abortion

Medical abortion, also known as drug abortion, has been widely used in clinical practice in recent years. It refers to the use of injections or medication to achieve artificial abortion in the early stages of pregnancy without surgery. However, not all women who want to have an artificial abortion are suitable for medical abortion. There are corresponding indications and contraindications, the main contents of which include the following:

1. Mifepristone combined with prostaglandins

Indications: Normal intrauterine pregnancy, women with gestational age less than 7 weeks; high-risk abortion candidates; those who are afraid of surgery.

Contraindications: patients with adrenal disease or endocrine-related tumors, diabetes, abnormal liver and kidney function, blood disease and thrombotic disease; patients with cardiovascular system disease, glaucoma, asthma, gastrointestinal dysfunction, anemia, hypertension; patients with pregnancy with an implant or ectopic pregnancy; patients with allergic constitution; patients with severe vomiting during pregnancy; patients with acute inflammation of the reproductive organs; patients taking rifampicin, isoniazid, cimetidine, antidepressants, prostaglandin inhibitors and barbiturates for a long time; patients who are far away from medical institutions and cannot seek medical treatment in time.

2. Kayun suppository combined with testosterone acid method

Indications: high-position abortion candidates, healthy women of childbearing age with intrauterine pregnancy of 8 to 12 weeks.

Contraindications: patients with cardiovascular diseases, glaucoma, asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, anemia, hypertension; patients with pregnancy with an IUD or ectopic pregnancy; patients with allergic constitution; patients with severe vomiting during pregnancy; patients with acute inflammation of the reproductive organs; patients taking rifampicin, isoniazid, cimetidine, antidepressants, prostaglandin inhibitors and barbiturates for a long time.
