Treatment of Haemophilus vaginitis

Treatment of Haemophilus vaginitis

Haemophilus vaginitis is a vaginitis caused by infection with Haemophilus bacteria. There are several ways to treat it:

General treatment

General treatment can eliminate the susceptible factors. Keep the vulva clean and dry, avoid scratching. Avoid eating spicy and irritating foods, which has a good effect. Change underwear frequently and wash it with warm water. Do not mix it with other clothes to avoid cross infection.

Topical medications

Prepare a suppository containing 100 mg of tetracycline or 0.5 g of sulfathiazole and insert it deep into the vagina once a night for a course of 10 days.

After tetracycline treatment, secondary fungal infection with Proteus or Staphylococcus aureus often occurs, so after treatment, the vagina should be flushed with a weak acid formula female care solution to restore the normal vaginal physiological environment.

Systemic medication

Sulfonamides and tetracyclines: Haemophilus vaginalis is sensitive to sulfonamides and tetracyclines and can be treated with regular oral doses.

Metronidazole: 200 mg 3 times/day. Since anaerobic bacteria may be the same pathogens of vaginitis as Haemophilus, it can be taken orally, but large doses of metronidazole may cause nausea and vomiting.

Changes in vaginal pH

The weak acidic environment of the vagina can maintain the self-cleaning function of the vagina. The normal pH is 3.7-4.5. Therefore, the weak acid formula of Ph4 female care solution is not only suitable for daily cleaning and maintenance, but also has a restorative effect on the flora disorder that causes bacterial vaginosis during treatment. When going to the toilet, wipe the vulva with feminine hygiene wipes to keep the vulva dry to inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria.
