What are the dangers of cervical erosion

Cervical erosion is not an independent disease, but a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. From a literal point of view, people often understand it as the phenomenon of cervical erosion, and its treatment is only started after the symptoms appear. However, improper or untimely treatment of cervical erosion will bring great harm to female patients.

1. Cause infertility

When patients have moderate or severe cervical erosion, the secretions in the cervix will increase significantly, mainly manifested as increased vaginal discharge, yellow color, sticky and odorous, or blood in the vaginal discharge. Increased and sticky secretions will reduce the vitality of sperm and hinder its entry into the uterine cavity. The large number of inflammatory phagocytes in the secretions can also cause a large number of sperm to be phagocytosed. If the sperm and egg cannot combine to form a fertilized egg, it will lead to female infertility.

2. Induce other diseases

The pathogens that cause cervical erosion can infect the uterus and cause endometritis; spreading to the pelvic cavity through the lymphatic vessels and parauterine ligaments can cause

Pelvic inflammatory disease. At the same time, due to the long-term stimulation of chronic inflammation, polyps, ectropion, lacerations and cysts may also occur.

3. Cancer

Under the stimulation of long-term chronic inflammation, atypical hyperplasia may occur in the columnar epithelium derived from the proliferation of the cervical canal. If not treated in time or improperly, it may gradually develop into cervical precancerous lesions and lead to cervical cancer.
