How to pay attention to infant vaginitis

How to pay attention to infant vaginitis

Vaginitis is the most common inflammation of the female reproductive organs and can be seen at all ages. Among them, juvenile vaginitis is more common in infants and young children aged 1 to 5 years old. The basis for judgment is redness and swelling of the vulva, watery vaginal discharge, accompanied by symptoms such as vulvar itching. The onset of vaginitis is often caused by infants and young children sitting or crawling on the ground or foreign objects entering the vagina. Pathogens can also be transmitted through the mother of the child or washing products. In view of the above situations, infants and young children should take corresponding prevention measures, such as paying attention to the hygiene of the perineum, keeping it clean and dry, and preventing infection.

1. Infancy

Use pure cotton diapers and try not to use diapers when you are not going out; change diapers in time, and take care to gently dry the labia and skin folds; when scrubbing, wipe the urethra, vaginal opening and anus from top to bottom; when the skin is chapped, use a non-irritating ointment, and then apply a thin and even layer of talcum powder on the vulva and groin to keep it dry, but it should be noted that too much powder should not be applied to prevent the powder from entering the vagina and forming clumps that cause irritation.

2. Early childhood

Young children should wear loose, soft and comfortable cotton underwear, and not tight pants or synthetic high socks; pay attention to the posture when urinating, and wipe the urethra and surrounding areas with soft toilet paper after urinating; wipe from front to back with soft toilet paper after defecation; wash clothes separately, reduce bathing in a tub or shared bathing, and use bathtubs and towels for one person only to avoid cross infection.
