Mechanical factors may lead to ectopic pregnancy

Ectopic pregnancy refers to the implantation and development of a fertilized egg in a location other than the uterus. In a normal pregnancy, the sperm and egg meet in the fallopian tube and combine to form a fertilized egg, which then swims to the uterus, implants in the uterus and develops into a fetus. If for some reason, the fertilized egg "sets up camp" somewhere other than the uterine cavity, it is an ectopic pregnancy. The most common ectopic pregnancy is a fallopian tube pregnancy. It is difficult for a fertilized egg to last in a fallopian tube pregnancy. Within 1 to 2 months after menopause, the gradually growing fertilized egg will burst the fallopian tube, causing heavy bleeding, shock, and even life-threatening. The cause of ectopic pregnancy is that mechanical factors hinder the movement of the fertilized egg.

1. Endosalpingitis

In mild endosalpingitis, the lumen of the fallopian tube is not completely blocked, but the lumen is slightly adhered, causing the endometrium to be wrinkled and narrowed, and even forming endometrial concavities. In this case, the fertilized egg is blocked on the way and implants and develops in the location. According to foreign statistics, 82.4% of patients with ectopic pregnancy also suffer from fallopian tube inflammation, which is caused by the obstruction of the fallopian tube.

2. Perisalpingitis

Infection after miscarriage or full-term delivery, pelvic peritonitis caused by appendicitis. At this time, the lesions occur in the serosal layer or seromuscular layer of the fallopian tube, causing adhesions around the fallopian tube and twisting and narrowing of the lumen.

3. After fallopian tube surgery

After tuboplasty, tubal anastomosis or tubal ligation, scar tissue or fallopian tube fistula may form, causing the fertilized egg to implant in an abnormal place.

4. Others

Hypoplasia of the fallopian tube or tumors around the fallopian tube compress the fallopian tube tissue, causing the fallopian tube to stretch and the lumen to narrow, resulting in the fertilized egg being unable to swim into the uterine cavity and implanting prematurely.
