Cervical polyps are a manifestation of chronic cervicitis. Cervical polyps should not be ignored to prevent cervicitis. Cervical polyps are more common in married women. Polyps originating from the cervical mucosa have a layer of columnar epithelium covered with abundant microvessels on the surface, so they are bright red, soft and fragile. They bleed when touched lightly, so they often get infected and form ulcers. There is another type of polyp from the vaginal part of the cervix, which is covered by stratified squamous epithelium. Since the stroma is mainly fibrous connective tissue, it is light red in color, tough in texture, with a wide base and superficial lesions. Cervical polyps are easily overlooked by patients. Most patients with cervical polyps lack obvious symptoms and are only discovered during doctor's examination. Even if there are symptoms, most of them are mild, mainly a small amount of spotting, bright red, or a small amount of bleeding after sexual intercourse, which is sometimes mistaken for "recurrence". The amount of bleeding in a few people can be similar to menstruation. Some patients may have yellow leucorrhea, most of which have a peculiar smell, or blood in the leucorrhea; it can also manifest as vaginal bleeding after menopause, and unmarried patients often show prolapse of a mass at the vaginal opening. Cervical polyps formed by long-term chronic inflammation may become malignant. Therefore, once cervical polyps are found, they should be treated actively. After surgery for cervical polyps, patients should go to the hospital for regular checkups. The first checkup should be about 3 months after surgery, and then every six months to one year. Cervical polyps can be prevented. In addition to taking good care of the menstrual period, postpartum or abortion, in daily life, attention should be paid to the hygiene of the vulva, to prevent vaginal inflammation and cervical erosion, and to maintain sexual hygiene. In addition, bedding should be frequently exposed to the sun, cotton underwear should be worn and washed and changed frequently, etc. On this basis, regular gynecological examinations are also very important. |
