Taking too many birth control pills can also cause uterine fibroids

Taking too many birth control pills can also cause uterine fibroids

Contraceptive pills are one of the contraceptive measures. They are easy to use and are favored by many women. However, contraceptive pills also have side effects, especially emergency contraceptive pills, which can cause nausea, vomiting, and menstrual disorders. If taken blindly and in large quantities for a long time, it may cause more serious consequences.

Long-term use of birth control pills may lead to uterine fibroids

Su Jin (pseudonym) is a modern urban woman who has high requirements for quality of life. She usually pays great attention to her sex life, hygiene, diet, etc. But what is puzzling is that she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids, the main symptom of which is vaginal bleeding after the menstrual period.

The doctor found out that Su Jin had been married for nearly five years and had never had an intrauterine device inserted. Her husband was unwilling to use condoms during sex, so she had to take birth control pills for a long time. Over time, this became the cause of her uterine fibroids.

Hormones accumulate in the body, becoming a "beauty killer"

An obstetrician and gynecologist explained that contraceptive pills contain a large amount of hormones. Taking too much will change the normal hormone levels in women, causing a large amount of hormone accumulation and causing uterine fibroids. In addition, long-term blind use of contraceptive pills will also cause menstrual disorders or even amenorrhea in women, and may also cause premature ovarian failure or infertility. It is recommended that female friends choose a more scientific contraceptive method.

In addition to birth control pills, skin care products and health products that are inseparable from women also contain hormones to a greater or lesser extent. Over time, it is easy to cause excess estrogen in the body and increase the chance of uterine fibroids. Due to the abuse of hormones, more and more young women are affected by uterine fibroids. Relevant data show that currently one-third of uterine fibroid patients are around 25-35 years old.

Experts remind: Uterine fibroids prefer 5 types of women

Some obstetricians and gynecologists pointed out that a large number of clinical observations and experimental results have proved that there are also high-risk groups for uterine fibroids, and five types of women should pay great attention to them:

1. Women with a family history of uterine fibroids. Those whose immediate relatives or sisters have suffered from uterine fibroids have a 4.2 times higher chance of developing the disease than those without a family history.

2. Women with factors that cause ovarian hyperfunction, such as polycystic ovary syndrome; women with ovarian endocrine diseases, such as granulosa cell tumor and ovarian granulosa cell tumor, can induce uterine fibroids.

3. The incidence of uterine fibroids is inversely proportional to the number of births. This is because during the ten months of pregnancy and half a year of breastfeeding, the ovaries do not ovulate and hormone secretion is at a low level, thus protecting the health of the uterus.

4. Women with high estrogen utilization rate. Hormones need receptors to work, and some people have more sensitive receptors and are easily affected by hormones, so they are relatively prone to uterine fibroids.

5. Obese women: Studies have shown that for every 10 kg increase in weight, the risk of developing fibroids increases by 21%, because obese people are more likely to synthesize estrogen.
