Special attention should be paid to complications in the treatment of ovarian cysts

Complications of ovarian cysts are mostly diseases that are extremely harmful to the ovaries. Compared with benign ovarian cysts, complications of ovarian cysts often have more obvious symptoms and greater harm. Here, we will introduce several common complications of ovarian cysts .

1. Malignant transformation of ovarian cysts: This complication of ovarian cysts often occurs in older women, especially postmenopausal women. The tumor grows rapidly in a short period of time, and the patient feels abdominal distension and loss of appetite. Examination shows that the tumor volume has increased significantly and is fixed, and there is often ascites. Suspected of malignant transformation should be treated promptly.

2. Ovarian cyst pedicle torsion: more common, one of the gynecological acute abdomen. This complication of ovarian cysts may even cause blood vessel rupture and bleeding, accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and even shock.

3. Infection: It is rare and is usually secondary to tumor pedicle torsion or rupture. The main symptoms are fever, abdominal pain, elevated white blood cell count and varying degrees of peritonitis. Infection should be actively controlled and surgical exploration should be performed at an appropriate time.

4. Tumor rupture: Spontaneous rupture may be caused by ischemic necrosis of the cyst wall or tumor erosion and penetration of the cyst wall; or traumatic rupture may be caused by squeezing, delivery, gynecological examination and puncture.

The complications of ovarian cysts are a threat to women's health and need to be taken seriously. Relevant measures should be taken before the disease occurs. The most serious complication of ovarian cysts is ovarian cancer, which is the main cause of death from ovarian cysts and should not be taken lightly.
