"Warming the kidney and regulating the spleen, resolving phlegm and removing dampness" to treat amenorrhea

Ye Zi, 28 years old, has been suffering from amenorrhea for more than half a year and is very uncomfortable. Since the year before last, Ye Zi's menstrual flow has gradually decreased, showing a trend of gradual decrease until last year when she began to have amenorrhea. Ye Zi was originally fat, 160cm tall and weighing 70kg. After amenorrhea, her weight continued to increase and now weighs 75kg. In addition, Ye Zi often feels tired and sleepy, has acne on her face, oily nose and hair, thick body hair under her armpits and genitals, and dark brown pigmentation on her neck, back, and groin. These symptoms all appeared after amenorrhea, and there was no improvement after many treatments and conditioning.

According to traditional Chinese medicine, there is a type of amenorrhea that is more common in obese people. The pathogenesis is spleen and kidney yang deficiency, dysfunction of healthy movement, accumulation of dampness and phlegm; or insufficient true yang, decline of life gate fire, inability to transform qi and promote water, cold and dampness stagnation, uterine vessels obstruction, and menstrual fluid cannot flow downward. Modern medicine's polycystic ovarian amenorrhea is mostly in this category. Symptoms include amenorrhea, obesity, fatigue, increased leucorrhea, chest and rib fullness, greasy mouth and phlegm, dizziness and palpitations, white and greasy tongue coating, and slippery and thin pulse. B-ultrasound shows that the ovaries are normal in size or enlarged, showing polycystic changes. Treatment should be to move the spleen and warm the kidney, resolve phlegm and eliminate dampness. Medicinal Poria peel, soybean roll, coix seed, and plantain can strengthen the spleen and promote movement, promote diuresis and eliminate dampness; Clematis chinensis and Gleditsia sinensis can remove dampness and dredge the meridians, soften and disperse nodules; Dipsacus asper, Cibotium barometz, Amethyst, and Deer Horn Tablets can warm and nourish the kidney yang, transform qi and promote diuresis; Cyperus rotundus, Citrus aurantium, Citrus aurantium, Patchouli, and Frankincense can promote qi and blood circulation and regulate menstruation. The combination of these medicines can transform phlegm and dampness, dredge the meridians, replenish the blood sea, and allow menstrual blood to flow out.
