Beware of ovarian tumors when amenorrhea occurs

Ovarian tumors refer to tumors that occur on the ovaries. They are one of the common tumors of the female reproductive organs. There are no obvious symptoms in the early stages of ovarian tumors, but there are usually lower abdominal discomfort, increased abdominal circumference, abdominal mass, abdominal pain, compression symptoms, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, etc. If they are not discovered in time through regular gynecological examinations and measures are not taken, they are likely to become malignant. Therefore, if an ovarian cyst is found, it must be removed as soon as possible.

Common ovarian tumors that cause amenorrhea include ovarian teratoma, ovarian dysgerminoma, primary ovarian choriocarcinoma, granulosa cell tumor, theca cell tumor, Leydig cell tumor, adrenal cell tumor, stromal luteinoma, nonspecific lipid cell tumor, epithelial ovarian tumor and ovarian metastatic tumor.

There are five mechanisms that cause amenorrhea: ① Destruction of ovarian structure and interference with ovarian function. ② Production of hormones that affect the function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis and endometrial responsiveness. ③ Surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc. destroy the ovarian structure or accelerate oocyte death and follicular atresia. ④ The patient is in a state of malignant consumption, which affects the biosynthesis of reproductive hormones and their regulatory factors. ⑤ After the disease, the mental state is not good, and the negative moods such as tension, fear, and anxiety affect the function of the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis and cause amenorrhea.
